According to Decision BS-I/9 adopted by
the First Meeting of the Conference of the Parties serving as the Meeting
of the Parties to the Cartagena Protocol (MOP-1), Parties are requested to submit
their reports:
(i) On a general frequency of every four years, but in the initial four-year
period to submit an interim report two years after the entry into force of the
Protocol;
(ii) Twelve months prior to the meeting of the Conference of the Parties serving
as the meeting of the Parties to the Protocol that will consider the report;

intervals and formats of the reports should be kept under review, building
on the experience of Parties in preparing their
reports.
